Golf MK1/MK2 MFA2.0 preview

Due to the very VW Golf-heavy past, the topic has never really let go of us – a REAL MFA integrated directly in the Golf speedometer. So it went back to the drawing board and the thoughts were given free reign.

“us”: yes, there will be more on this topic later.

Eventually the idea came up to modify the existing MFD15 so that it would fit. and it fit. The upper line, where the characters for the LEDs are otherwise shown and the old MFA, is omitted.

With a part from the 3D printer. There is no need to destroy anything on the speedometer – plug and play! Finally, the display on the display had to be changed, as there are now two cutouts. There are currently two views for the top (one unfortunately cannot be seen: bar graph) and four for the bottom area:

– shift light? YESSS! –

And then we asked ourselves what these bottom five LEDs are actually for – the next idea emerged. Integrate additional LEDs into the speedometer and control them yourself – RGB LEDs, of course, where you can adjust the color individually.

– The service –

There is only one option for operation, right? The original MFA lever. This cost us a lot of headaches because VW designed the controls to be very “sophisticated”. In the end it could still be implemented.
