Toyota GR Yaris display

Here we present our new Toyota GR Yaris display. At the same time we are presenting our new display generation “Gen2”.

Together with some of the first testers, we developed the GR Yaris display very closely to the OEM functionality – here again perfect integration and the ventilation nozzle is still functional thanks to an intelligent design.

Big thanks to  Thilo (Youtube link to his channel) for the pictures.

The most important engine and vehicle data

  • engine speed
  • water temperature
  • Oil temperature and oil pressure
  • transmission temperature
  • Intake air temperature
  • speed
  • Gear (calculated from speed and rpm)
  • Lambda value / AFR
  • Boost pressure IS and SHOULD
  • ignition angle
  • Rear differential clutch temperature
  • 4x tire pressure
  • 4x tire temperature

We are also working on the integration for Syvecs and Motec, as these control units are offered directly plug and play for the GR Yaris. There will be other interesting solutions from us.

Attached is Thilo’s introduction video in his Nordschleife racer (German with English and Spanish subtitles).

Key facts

Hendrik was also at the  Turbozentrum to install the display on their GR Yaris and shoot the video. We will go into more detail about many of the functions of the new display generation:

Integrated performance meter (measure times 0-100, 100-200, 0-200)

permanent data logging

Integrated shift light or optionally as an external module

individual warnings

Read and delete engine error/codes (in plain text).

The ventilation nozzle is functional thanks to an intelligent design

Left-hand drive and right-hand drive versions available

Easy connection to the OBD interface

Customize

With our DSS – Display Setup Software you can completely customize your display – own views, set up all warnings, rename sensors, own pictures and much more

CANchecked DSS - TRI File
DSS Gen2
CANchecked DSS - Log viewer

Motec/Syvecs configuration

Two options:
1) Order your display suitable for Motec/Syvecs
2) Change the firmware of your display to “standard” instead of “OBD”: MFD28/MFD32 software update

The appropriate TRI file should already be available on the SD card. You can find it here:
1) Swipe down the display and go to “Setup”
2) “Can Bus”
3) “TRI/TRX File”
Select the appropriate file (-M = metric units, -I = imperial units, -G = German sensor names and metric)

Then please configure the control device so that the standard stream is sent.

Buy

You can buy the display directly from our dealers.

Installation

You can find our illustrated installation instructions under the following links. For experienced screwdrivers, installation takes about 1 hour.

Toyota GR Yaris display setup

We are extremely proud that our display for the Toyota GR Yaris has been so well received. Here are some tips on how to make your Toyota Yaris display even better…

Toyota GR Yaris display

Gear setup

The display can calculate the gears from speed and engine speed and display them accordingly. There is already a large widget for the aisle on page 2. You have to set these things:

  1. On page 2, tap a widget on the right  and assign the sensor to “Speed”. The display only has access to the values that are currently displayed. Speed is required for gear calculation.
  2. Go into the display setup (swipe the display down) and then to “Sensor Init” . Make sure “RPM” and “Speed” are mapped correctly. The display accesses exactly these two for the aisle.
  3. In the display setup go to “Gears” and adjust the following values for your GR Yaris:
    • Gear 1: 125
    • Gear 2: 72
    • Gear 3: 50
    • Gear 4: 40
    • Gear 5: 32
    • Gear 6: 26
    • Gear 7: 1
  4. Finally, restart the display (ignition off/on) so that the “Sensor Init” values take effect.

The gears are only calculated when driving. Try it out and have fun

Audi 100/200 MFA2.0

Where are the Audi 100/200 drivers?

A development together with Chris from Chris Concepts that we have had in the drawer for a long time. A display for the Audi 200 that replaces the original MFA. It is of course operated with the original MFA lever. With Chris, the display gets its CAN bus data from the Ecumaster Classic incl. CAN bus adapter and 8x EGT to CAN module (currently also supported: trijekt, LinkECU, megasquirt, KDFI, umc, kms – more on request)

We don’t currently have the Plug&Play kit on the market. If you are interested, just send us a message.

Audi 200 MFA2.0

– Implementation –

Due to the compact design of our  MFD15  , we are able to offer exactly such solutions. A specially manufactured adapter for the speedometer is used, which holds the display.

Nothing needs to be cut or drilled on the speedometer itself. A retrofit is possible at any time without any problems.

The shift light has also found its place, as can be seen in the video, and its colors and speed thresholds can be changed individually.

Golf MK1/MK2 MFA2.0 preview

Due to the very VW Golf-heavy past, the topic has never really let go of us – a REAL MFA integrated directly in the Golf speedometer. So it went back to the drawing board and the thoughts were given free reign.

“us”: yes, there will be more on this topic later.

Golf 2 MFA2.0 drawing board

– the first test assembly –

Golf 2 MFA2.0

Eventually the idea came up to modify the existing MFD15 so that it would fit. and it fit. The upper line, where the characters for the LEDs are otherwise shown and the old MFA, is omitted.

– new views –

With a part from the 3D printer. There is no need to destroy anything on the speedometer – plug and play! Finally, the display on the display had to be changed, as there are now two cutouts. There are currently two views for the top (one unfortunately cannot be seen: bar graph) and four for the bottom area:

Golf 1 MFA 2.0 beam
Golf 1 MFA 2.0 5-speed
Golf 2 MFA 2.0 line chart
Golf 2 MFA 2.0 double value

– shift light? YESSS! –

And then we asked ourselves what these bottom five LEDs are actually for – the next idea emerged. Integrate additional LEDs into the speedometer and control them yourself – RGB LEDs, of course, where you can adjust the color individually.

– The service –

There is only one option for operation, right? The original MFA lever. This cost us a lot of headaches because VW designed the controls to be very “sophisticated”. In the end it could still be implemented.

Display Mazda MX5 customer solution for the speedometer

A really great Mazda MX5 customer solution, where the MFD15 was integrated directly into a Mazda MX5 speedometer. It fits like a glove and looks like it has always been there. It is operated as usual using the rotary knob, which can be flexibly positioned in the vehicle using the 50cm long cable.
